Testimonial Thursday – Ashley from Oak Park

Ashley is a busy mom of 2 sweet energetic boys, a wife, sister, daughter, and friend. When she’s not juggling family, friends, and home life, she spends her days teaching high school in the Chicagoland area.

For Ashley her SBMJ experience was successful because not only did it help her find her style in the classroom, but it also saved her valuable time that she didn’t want to waste. After working all day, coming home, making dinner for her boys, and doing all the other things that we do on our evenings, the last thing she had time for was to go to the mall.

Our weekend time is so precious. The time that we have to relax and spend with our families are few and far between. The last thing we should be doing is spending them in crowded stores, shoved in fitting rooms with terrible lighting, with the general haze of anxiety hanging over us. If you can personally relate to any of this, raise your hand.

For Ashley, I chose pieces that would be versatile for work as well as nights out with her hubby and friends. So all of her pieces can be paired with denim or a say a pencil skirt and jean jacket for a casual date night. She also works in the school with no air conditioning so I wanted to create outfits that she could layer — blouses and pants with blazers, tunics with leggings and cardigans. Also items that were not too “form fitting” as she said “high school kids can be judgey”. So we had to find a balance between being fashion forward, professional, and classy.

It was a real pleasure working with Ashley. She was ready to take her style to a new level and I’m so honored that she chose to work with me to help her do so. Now she can go into work every day and feel confident and ready to teach!
